NSW; Developments will create 15,000 jobs govt

SYDNEY, Feb 17 AAP - The New South Wales government today moved to fast track planning
approvals for two huge developments in western Sydney that will create up to 15,000 jobs over
15 years.

The plan, announced by Premier Bob Carr, will rezone almost 1,000 hectres of land so
developers can build business parks and residential estates.

The two developments are a $600 million project at Boral's Prospect quarry and a $500
million hi-tech business park being built at the Australia Wonderland site.

Longer term, the government promised a new development plan for the Parramatta region which
would slash red tape for developments in the Parramatta CBD.

Stage one of the Wonderland project is expected to be finished by the end of this year.
